Und so weiter. Dahinter steckt natürlich eine Masche:

Das Schreiben möchte den Eindruck erwecken, es ginge hier um Ihre Domains und wäre irgendwie wichtig. Tut es aber nicht. Es geht um nichts. Man will Ihnen was verkaufen, was Sie nicht brauchen. Ihre Adresse? Die hat man aus der Adressdatenbank aller Domainbesitzer (WHOIS).
Sie sind sich nicht sicher? Besuchen Sie den Verwaltungsbereich Ihres Hosters. Wenn “es” wichtig ist, finden Sie “es” meist auch dort.

Ganz typisch ist, das mit einer Dringlichkeitsaufforderung gearbeitet wird:

Ja, klar. Das war aus Sicht der Mail “morgen”. Die Idee ist, dass wir Angst kriegen und den Quatsch bezahlen. Und zwar ohne den Brief genauer zu lesen, denn es geht nicht um die Domains, sondern um irgendwelche Suchmaschineneinträge. Und das ist das eigentlich perfide an der Mail, denn der “Betrug” besteht letztlich nur in der Suggestion von Richtigkeit (Adresse), Wichtigkeit (Grossbuchstaben, offizielles Getue) und Dringlichkeit (Termine).

Merke:
Suchmaschinen, bei denen man dafür bezahlen muss, um gefunden zu werden, können keine guten Suchmaschinen sein, denn sie würden nicht liefern, was der Suchende finden will, sondern was der Zahlende ihm zeigen will. Bei einer solchen “schlechten” Suchmaschinen wiederum lohnt es sich nicht, Kunde zu sein, denn niemand will sie benutzen.

Wie können Menschen auf so was reinfallen?, fragt sich da mancher. Dazu kann ich aus der Praxis sagen: Die meisten, die so eine Mail kriegen, sind verunsichert, weil sie weder IT- noch Sicherheitsmenschen sind, sondern in ganz anderen Berufen arbeiten. Für sie sieht dieser Brief genauso aus wie die Rechnung vom Hoster, die sie bezahlen. Meist haben nicht sie ihre Domains angemeldet, sondern dritte, zu denen sie keinen Kontakt mehr haben. Es könnte also was wichtiges sein. Außerdem ist es ja dringend…

Merke:
Wer Sie bedrängt, es eilig hat, sofort / jetzt / gleich was haben will, der will Sie über den Tisch ziehen.

Das ist schon ein famoses Geschäftsmodell.  500 Dollar “lifetime”. Pro Domain.

Wenn man davon ausgeht, dass etwa 20 Mio. Personen diese Mail erhalten, und nur etwa 0,01 Prozent 75 Dollar zahlen, sind es immer noch 15000 Dollar pro Mail.

Was können Sie tun?

Nichts.
Ignorieren.
Und richten Sie einen Mail-Filter ein: “Domain Notification:” -> Mülleimer.
